Nurse of the Year 2006 (UMC Lubbock, Texas)
Ms. Vibeth Atienza arrived in Lubbock in September 2003. She was originally assigned in the Oncology unit when she started employment and is now working in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. Since Ms. Atienza has initiated her employment with UMC Health System, she has become a Charge Nurse, achieved Career Ladder Level II, and has also obtained the Oncology Certification. Her Nursing Director states that "Vibeth is an awesome nurse who goes beyond what is expected of her. She is the epitome of a real nurse. She is compassionate, caring, knowledgeable, diversified, and able to multi-task. Vibeth is an asset to 4-East and UMC."
